Helping You Buy
Buying in the Savannah area is about a lot more than finding a house you like online. The neighborhood, commute, lifestyle, taxes, flood zones, traffic, amenities, and even what side of town you live on can completely change how happy you are after the move. My job is to help you figure out what will actually work for you.
Free Relocation Strategy Session
A beautiful house in the wrong location is still the wrong house. One of my favorite parts of working with buyers is the strategy session.
Before we start sending listings back and forth, we talk about what you actually want your life here to look like.
Do you want to be close to downtown? Near the water? On acreage? In a newer neighborhood? Somewhere quiet? Close to restaurants and shopping? A 55+ community?
There is no charge for this call. It is simply a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we're right to work together.
Questions About Buying a Home in the Savannah Area
Buying a home can feel complicated, especially when you’re relocating or exploring an unfamiliar area. My job is to make each step easier to understand, from defining your needs and choosing the right neighborhoods to making an offer and getting to closing.
You’ll have clear guidance, practical advice, and straightforward answers throughout the process so you can move forward with confidence and choose a home that truly fits your goals.
Where should I live in the Savannah area?
That depends much more on how you want to live than which neighborhood has the prettiest houses. You could live near the beach, have acreage with chickens and horses, choose a brand-new home in a planned community, or live in a 100-year-old house near downtown Savannah. This is one of the first things we figure out during your relocation strategy session, so we can focus on areas that actually fit the life you want.
Should I live in Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, or Rincon?
Each offers a very different lifestyle, housing options, commute, and price point. You might want new construction and a big yard, a low-maintenance community, a historic neighborhood, or a condo near the coast. The areas I recommend will depend on your lifestyle, budget, commute, and what matters most to you day to day.
Can you help me buy a home in Savannah if I live out of state?
Absolutely. A large part of my business is helping relocation buyers purchase homes from a distance. I can preview properties, record detailed video tours, show you the surroundings, and point out things you would never see in the listing photos. You get to see the whole property, not just its most flattering angles.
Do I need to worry about flood zones or flood insurance in Savannah?
Yes. Flood risk is something every buyer in coastal Georgia should understand before choosing a property. Not every home requires flood insurance, and flood risk can vary significantly from one area to another, so it is something we look at carefully before you make an offer.
Should I visit a new construction model home without my own real estate agent?
I wouldn’t recommend it. The builder’s sales representative works for the builder, not for you. Having your own agent gives you someone focused on your interests who can help you compare communities, understand the contract, evaluate incentives and upgrades, and negotiate when there is room to do so.
What if I’m not ready to buy a home yet?
That is completely fine. Many of the people I talk with are still 6 to 12 months away from moving, and starting early can actually make the process easier. It gives you time to work on credit, build your down payment, organize finances, explore different areas, and have a plan in place long before you need to make a decision.
